Top tips to ensure you have a happy ‘retirement’
Jason Holmes founded and owns Lumen Financial Planning, a local accredited Financial Planning firm. He works primarily with local business owners helping them to take control of their financial future and enjoy the lifestyle that they want.
Jason will offer practical advice and tips that will help attendees plan for their own retirement (whatever that looks like) and highlight the steps they should and shouldn’t take. The presentation will take the form of a case study story and will provide useful tips no matter what stage of life someone is at; whether starting the savings journey or nearing a time when they may stop work or reduce hours. It will also include information of workplace pensions which each employer must put in place and the steps they need to take.
Jason is a Chartered and Certified Financial Planner and employs 4 staff. He is involved with a local mentoring charity called Reach which works in schools in the Craigavon area. He is married to Sharon and has 3 children. He tries to keep in shape and has completed a number of marathons and an Ironman Triathlon.
Member speaker – Maike Dring, Essential Wellbeing
Maike Dring, M.I.F.P.A., A.B.T.I. of Essential Wellbeing specialises in Pain Relief, Stress Management, Relaxation Therapies and Trauma Release.
With over 20 years’ experience in the Health Care sector, her clients broadly divide into three sectors: private clients, workplace and schools/community organisations. She provides treatments, talks and training events for professionals and the public.
Her therapeutic workload mainly focuses on muscular-skeletal issues, i.e. reducing pain and discomfort, improving body movement, however restoring a positive emotional state is often a welcome side effect!
Private Clients attend with back pain, sciatica, neck & shoulder restrictions, knee & ankle pain, sports injuries for example. Typically just 3 sessions restore function and resolve pain for clients.
For the Workplace Essential Wellbeing offers treatments, talks and workshops, enabling companies to substantially reduce the cost of absenteeism due back pain, chronic pain and other stress-related issues.
In Special Needs Schools she uses a combination of therapies to improve pupils’ behaviour as well as physical and emotional health.
There will also be an Emmett Technique demonstration today, provided there is a willing volunteer!
Visitors are always welcome. The attendance fee includes a light breakfast – Members £3.50 and Visitors £5.00, payable at the event.
